Apply a protective finish There are quite a few types of finishes available, including polyurethane, lacquer, lacquer and varnish. Each of these finishes has a different texture and look, so you can choose one according to your preferences. Apply a thin layer of wax to the table with the waxing brush with a movement back and forth in the direction of the wood grain. Use gentle pressure as you apply the wax to apply it and work in small sections, covering each section before moving on to the next.
As for spills, when this happens, I lift the glass a little and put a towel between the wooden table and the tablecloth until tomorrow when it dries. There are several different products that can be used successfully to seal wooden tables, but one of the most important things for me was to find something that wouldn't significantly darken the natural color of my table or make it shiny. I was thinking about a plastic cover after finishing the table, but maybe it's just a dumb point and I should learn to love a multicolored striped table. I was wondering what is used to clean the table or to clean it after the table has been treated with wax and cured.
